Zonie Ted Barnette

Mr. Zonie Ted Barnette, age 91 of Moravian Falls passed away Sunday, October 25, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was a sweet and kind man, loved by all and he loved everyone unconditionally. 

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Jonah Parker officiating.  Burial will be in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in the Brushy Mountain Community.  The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:30 AM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. 

Mr. Barnette was born May 25, 1929 in Wilkes County to James Virgil and Alma Nance Barnette on the Brushy Mountains before the roads were paved.  He later moved to Flint, MI and retired from General Motors.  After his retirement he moved back to the home place. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son; Ted Barnette, Jr., three sisters; Lois Smithey, Ronie Pennell and Violet Combs and six brothers; Royal, Hobert, Herman, Sanford, Ralph and Ebb Barnette. 

He is survived by a daughter; Juanita Lawing of China Grove, three grandchildren; Shane Huneycutt, Chad Huneycutt and Angelina Litaker, three great grandchildren; Able Huneycutt, Chad Huneycutt, Jr. and Adler Litaker and two great great grandchildren; Riley Huneycutt and Aubree Huneycutt, a sister; Bonnie Shumate of Moravian Falls, a brother; Howard Barnette of Moravian Falls and several nieces and nephews. 

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Deborah Poole, 6236 Linneys Mill Road, Moravian Falls, NC 28654.
