Wilma Rose (Elledge) Foster

Mrs. Wilma Rose Elledge Foster, age 88 of Wilkesboro, died Friday, October 15, 2021 at her home.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, October 25, 2021 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Brown officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM in the Reach Center at the church prior to the service.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Ms. Foster was born January 16, 1933 in Wilkes County to the late Shuba Thomas Elledge and Eula Mae Johnson Elledge. She was wife of Arthur Garfield, Foster, Jr., better known as “A.G.”, and the love of her life for 58 years. She was an avid reader and was interested in genealogy. She was a longtime member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church where she worked in the office for many years and retired from Sentinel Insurance Company. She enjoyed spending time with friends and time organizing class reunions for the graduating Class of 1951 of Wilkesboro High School. Wilma’s greatest joy was her family, from hosting countless Holiday Dinners and gatherings to just making Sunday Dinner special.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Garfield, Foster, Jr., better known as “A.G.”; her sister, Geraldine Elledge Nichols; and her brother, Robert Thomas Elledge, better known as “Tommy”.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Anne Marie Foster Elledge; and a host of nieces and nephews.
