Willie Joe Smith

Mr. Willie Joe Smith, age 59 of North Wilkesboro passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at Wake Forest Baptist-Wilkes Medical Center. 

Funeral services will be held 3:30 PM Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Scenic Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Eddie Tharpe officiating.  Burial with Military Honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1142 will be in Scenic Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:30 PM prior to the service in Scenic Mausoleum Chapel. 

Mr. Smith was born January 6, 1961 in Florence, SC to John William and Willie Mae Hutchinson Smith. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter; Loretta Lynn Smith, a granddaughter; Olivia Lowe and a sister; Vicki Lynch. 

He is survived by his wife; Roberta Lee Halstead Smith of the home, five daughters; Elenor Lowe and husband Teddy of North Wilkesboro, Michelle Sheets and husband David of North Wilkesboro, Tiffany Workman and husband Ben of Florence, SC, Mable Kilby and husband Dash of Millers Creek and Lizzy Smith of North Wilkesboro, twelve grandchildren; Alyssa Workman, Kylee Workman, Corbitt Lowe, Issac Lowe, Brayn Smith, Jeremiah Smith, Layla Smith, Nicole Kilby, Andrew Kilby, Rosemary Smith, Loretta Smith and Sean Smith, one sister; Helen Kilby of Fayetteville and two brothers; J.L. Smith and wife Tammy of Pamlico, SC and Paul Smith of Florence, SC.
