Willie Angelee (Horton) Johnson

Ms. Willie Angelee Horton Johnson, age 93, of Ferguson passed away Monday, March 3, 2025, at her home. 

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Beaver Creek Church with Rev. Darlene Stokes, Rev. Keith Banner, and Rev. Eugenia Harrell officiating.  The burial will be in the Horton Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. 

Willie was born January 11, 1932, in Wilkes County to Eugene and Mattie Witherspoon Horton. She loved basketball and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Michaux Scott; granddaughter, Thanika Corpening; five sisters, Treble Denny, Gennis Davenport, Arita Newkirk, Margaret Reid, Shirley Perkins; and three brothers, Charles Horton, Robert Horton, and Herbert Horton.

She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Michaux Graves (Jesse); five grandchildren, Scherri Corpening Epps, Juval Scott (Randle), Damon Corpening (Victoria), Jeremiah Scott II (Whitney), and Angela Corpening; sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister/niece Barbara Davis (Charles) of Ferguson; brother, Eugene Horton, Jr. of Ferguson, and a very special cousin/friend, Olivia H. Banner. 

The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice and Dr. Ashton Molai for all their loving care.
