William "Bill" David Sebastian

Mr. William David Sebastian, better known as “Bill”, age 79 of Hays passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Joel Blevins officiating.  Burial with Military Honors by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1142 Honor Guard and the United States Air Force Honor Guard will be in Mountlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 PM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. 

Bill was born July 30, 1941 in Wilkes County to Lorenzo Alfonzo and Edwina Johnson Sebastian.  He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He loved airplanes and his friends at the airport and visited them everyday. He was a loving and kind husband, father and grandfather.  A jack of all trades. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister; Gladys Blalock. 

Bill is survived by his wife of 58 years; Shirley Ann Blackburn Sebastian of the home, they were lifelong buddies, they met in elementary school in the 7th grade, three daughters; Kristal Absher and husband Ronnie of Hays, Michelle Wood and husband Scott of Roaring River and Jennifer Eller and husband Ricky of North Wilkesboro, four grandchildren; Brodie Absher, Dillon Wood, Bayle Wood and Sebastian Eller, and one sister; Peggy Church of Wilkesboro and his four legged friend; Buford.
