Mr. Wade Henderson Parsons, age 87, went to his heavenly home on Friday, April 19, 2024.  As he passed through the pearly gates his grandson, Benjamin Wade Call, that recently gained his angel wings along with his mother and dad, Charles and Annie Ruth were there to take his hands.  What a Hallelujah time it was!

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church on Hwy 16 with Pastor Brady Hayworth officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Parsons was born August 11, 1936, in Wilkes County, to Charles Henderson and Annie Ruth Steelman Parsons.  He was a member at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Director, teacher, and Caretaker of the church cemetery for many years.  Wade started Boy Scout Troop 305 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation. He taught a taxidermy class at Wilkes Community College.  He was an officer in the Blue Ridge Rifle and Pistol club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Henderson, and Annie Ruth Steelman Parsons; grandson, Benjamin W. Call; brother-in-law, Lloyd J. Faw; father-in-law, Rev. Clate P. Brown; and mother-in-law, Nona E. Osborne Brown.

He is survived by the love of his life for 67 years, Judith “Judy”  Brown Parsons, of the home; two daughters, Marisa Parsons Hart and husband Ricky of Wilkesboro, and Jill Parsons Oakley and husband Ricky of Millers Creek; one son, Derek Wade Parsons and wife Bonnie of Sanford; eight grandchildren, Joshua K. Call, Patience Abigail Hart, Wendy L. Billings, Eric Lee Oakley, Austin Wade Parsons, Savannah Chisholm Parsons, Christi Hart, Corey Hart; ten great grandchildren, Raven, Bailey, Cailey, Gage, Benjamin Tyler, Hayden, Hailey Paige, Barett, Magnolia, and Atlee ; three great – great grandchildren, Ophelia, Amelia, Adalynn; one sister, Wilma Ruth Faw of Wilkesboro; one brother Steve Charles and wife Gail Parsons; and special care givers Debbie Osborne and Polly Nichols.
