Troy Mathis Obituary
Mr. Troy Mathis, age 86 of Wilkesboro passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at Rose Glen Manor.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Wilkesboro with Rev. Ken Pardue officiating. Mr. Mathis may be viewed Friday, May 22, 2020 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Reins-Sturdivant.
Mr. Mathis was born February 27, 1934 in Wilkes County to Montgomery and Rebecca Johnson Mathis. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He retired from AT&T after 30 years of service, and was a charter member of Little Brushy Mountain Fire Department.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife; Ruth Lorraine Shumate Mathis, a son; Troy Lynn Mathis; five brothers, Archie Mathis, Hugh Mathis, Devon Mathis, Rogan Mathis, and Gaither Mathis, and three sisters; Willa Johnson, Arcille Mathis, and Judy Hendren.
He is survived by one son; Charles “Chuck” Mathis and wife RoseMary of Millers Creek; a brother, Billy Mathis and wife Maggie of North Wilkesboro; also numerous nieces and nephews.
