Tommy Franklin Patton, 84, of Wilkesboro, NC, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Born in 1941 in Pilot Mountain, North Carolina, Tommy was the son of Sidney and Cornelia Whitt Patton. After graduating from Pilot Mountain High School, he attended and graduated from Kings Business College in Charlotte. He began his career as an insurance adjuster with Gay & Taylor and later Crum & Forster, where he worked for many years.

In 1972, Tommy and his wife Rosalee moved their young family to Wilkesboro, where he worked for Northwestern Bank. In 1975, they opened Steam Systems and served the surrounding community in disaster restoration until 1987. Until his illness, he remained actively involved in the daily operations of their storage business, U-LOCK-IT. Tommy worked hard every day to provide for his family, his church, and his community. His family is proud beyond words of the impact he made during his life.

Tommy was a devoted and active member of Wilkesboro Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He loved his church deeply and dedicated countless hours to sharing the word of God and the love of Jesus Christ. His faith was the foundation of his life, and he joyfully shared his love for his Savior with everyone he met.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Rosalee Jarvis Patton; son Andrew (Andy) Patton and wife Beth; daughter Molly Patton Curry and husband John; granddaughter Olivia Johnson and husband Nathaniel; grandson Jacob (Jake) Patton and girlfriend Emmalyne; sisters Mary Ann Cook of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Nancy Hall of Mt. Airy, NC; nieces Julie Cook and Cydna Anne Hall Clifton; and nephew Chuck Hall.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Gary Cook, and nephew Michael Cook.

Tommy loved his family wholeheartedly. He had a story or joke for every occasion, and those who knew him will hopefully smile or laugh when they think of him. He was one of a kind. He will be deeply missed for his sense of humor, kindness, unforgettable life stories, and contagious laugh. His legacy of faith, hard work, and love will live on in all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13th from 2–4 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 4 p.m. at Wilkesboro Baptist Church. Rev. Al Andrews and Dr. Chris Hefner will officiate. Mr. Steve Melton will deliver the eulogy.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ebenezer Children’s Home, 1006 Byrd Ridge Rd., North Wilkesboro, NC 28659, or The Health Foundation, Inc., PO Box 667, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
