Mr. Tommy Ray Minton, age 76 of North Wilkesboro, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center.
Graveside services with Military Honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1142 Honor Guard will be held 2:00 PM Monday, April 28, 2025, at Mountlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Jeff Collins and Rev. Ethan Williams. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM Monday at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
He was born on July 9, 1948, in Wilkes County to Floyd Ray and Pauline Williams Minton. Tommy enjoyed doing taxidermy, camping, fishing, playing horseshoes and many other activities. He was active in youth sports as a softball coach. He was an Army veteran having served in the Vietnam Conflict, and retired from the United States Postal Service. .
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Stephen Chad Minton.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki Kanupp Minton, two daughters, Beth Dockery (Jonathon) of Millers Creek and April Blackburn (Joel) of Millers Creek; four grandchildren, Austin Howell, Julian Langdon, Cora Blackburn and Jacob Dockery; sister, Janie Church of Wilkesboro; and nephew, Kristopher Church.
