Thelma Ester Alexander

Mrs. Thelma Ester Alexander, age 93  wife of Mayford Alexander of Roaring River passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at her home. 

Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Roaring River Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Wood officiating.  Burial will be in Roaring River Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 10:45 AM until 11:45 AM prior to the service at the church. 

Thelma was born April 17, 1929 in Wilkes County to Jesse L. and Effie Porter Ester.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She was a member of Roaring River Baptist Church. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons; John Carroll Alexander and Barry Douglas Alexander, one sister and five brothers. 

She is survived by her husband; Mayford Alexander of the home, a daughter; Vanessa Weisner and husband Reggie of Statesville, a son; Rick Alexander and wife Louise of Wilkesboro, four grandchildren; Penny Alexander-Crump and husband Brian, Brian Alexander and wife Carla, Matt Weisner and wife Jennifer, Adam Weisner and wife Sara, nine great grandchildren; Bryson Alexander Crump, Brantley Alexander, Hannah Alexander, Mackenna Weisner, Hudson Weisner, Ava Lynn Weisner, Elle  Ana Weisner, Izzy Weisner and Piper Weisner; daughter-in-law Karen Alexander. 

Thelma’s family is grateful to her special caregivers; Virginia (Jennie) Wilborn, Doris Little, Charlene Wyatt as well as the wonderful nurses and staff with Mountain Valley Hospice.
