Teresa Shumate Prestipino

Mrs. Teresa Kay Shumate Prestipino, age 53, of North Wilkesboro, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025, at her home.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at New Covenant Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Shumate and Rev. Chad Reavis officiating.

Teresa was born on April 22, 1971, in Wilkes County to Steven Wade and Babbie “Babs” Dean Minton Shumate.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandkids at the beach.  She also enjoyed gardening and flowers.  Her favorite color was blue, and she had a love for dolphins.  

She was preceded in death by her mother, Babbie.

Teresa is survived by her husband, Mark Prestipino of North Wilkesboro; four sons, Casey Shumate of North Wilkesboro, Jamie Williams of Hays, Jacob Prestipino (Katie) of Hays, and Steven Prestipino (Kira) of Hays; seven grandchildren, Chrissy Williams, Arabella Williams, Raylan Shumate, Macie Prestipino, Easton Prestipino, Luca Prestipino and Walker Prestipino; one sister, Lisa Blevins of North Wilkesboro; one brother David Shumate of North Wilkesboro; mother in law, Joan Prestipino; one special niece, Nakayla and nephews, Gavin, Brody and Tracy.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Donor’s Choice.
