Mrs. Sylvia Ann Farrington Adams, age 83 of North Wilkesboro, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist-Wilkes Medical Center surrounded by family. 

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, April 27, 2026, at Friendship Church of the Brethren with Rev. Wallace Cole and Rev. Gary Benesh officiating. Burial will be in Mountlawn Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM prior to the service at the church. 

Sylvia was born December 3, 1942, in Wilkes County to Kermit Benton and Mettie Roberts Farrington. She was a member of Friendship Church of Brethren. She was previously the pianist and choir director for many years at her church. She also accomplished obtaining her associate’s degree in accounting. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Vella Woods; three brothers, Hubert Farrington, Sr., Lancelot “Lance” Farrington, and Brannan Farrington; and nephews, Junior Farrington and Jeral Farrington. 

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Adams of the home; her daughter, Wendy Denny (Eric Stamper) of Wilkesboro; grandson, Austin Denny; step-grandchildren, Justin Denny and Summer Stamper; sister, Josie Haynes of North Wilkesboro; nieces and nephews, Keith Haynes, Karen H. Hall, Rita Eckhout, Gary Blevins, Rob Woods, Jenny Kuritar, Vea Brown; and several great nieces and nephews.
