Mrs. Lucille “Susie” Walker Haynes, age 88 of Millers Creek passed away September 26, 2022 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist-Wilkes Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, October 2, 2022 at Mountain Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Prevette, Rev. Scott Church and Rev. Glenn Dancy, III officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 PM prior to the service at the church.
Susie was born April 4, 1934 in Wilkes County to Norman William and Frances Bertha Royal Walker. She was a member of Mountain Valley Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by; three brothers; Ralph Walker, R.D. Walker and Edward Walker.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years; Ralph Junior Haynes of the home; two daughters; Juanita (Gary) Ellis of North Wilkesboro and Marlene England of Millers Creek, a son; Steven (Loretta) Haynes of North Wilkesboro, five grandchildren; Angel (Davy) Foster of Wilkesboro, Matthew (Scarlett) McGlamery of Hays, Philip (Ashleigh) McGlamery of North Wilkesboro, Leanna (Jamie) Young of North Wilkesboro, Luke (Leslie) England of Millers Creek, eight great grandchildren; Benjamin Foster, Ashley Foster, Lydia McGlamery, Maverick McGlamery, Amelia McGlamery, Eleanor McGlamery, Dustin Young, Kade England and two brothers; Ray (Ann) Walker of Kernersville and James Walker of King, honorary grandchild; Heather Melton Freeman.
