Sue Wilkerson Reeves

Mrs. Virginia “Sue” Wilkerson Reeves, age 81 of Hays passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Wilkes Health & Rehabilitation Center. 

Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Davis Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Mike Church officiating. 

Sue was born September 11, 1943, in Marshall County, WV to Donald W. and Pauline Opal Quigley Wilkerson.   Sue worked as a school bus driver for 37 years.  Beginning at Union Elementary School, she drove the bus, worked in the cafeteria and provided custodial services. She finished her driving career at Millers Creek Elementary.  Simultaneously with her husband began and operated Reeves Cleaning and Maintenance Service.  Miscellaneous jobs throughout her life included waitressing, industrial sewing and security guard. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son; John Thomas Hall, Jr. and two brothers; Don Wilkerson and Fred Wilkerson. 

She is survived by her husband; Harlie Clayton “Clate” Reeves of the home, a daughter; Cheryl (Dennis) DePew of Millers Creek, two sons; Michael (Sherry) Hall of North Wilkesboro, Jeffrey Scott (Karen) Hall of Surf Side, SC, two step-sons; Jeffery Reeves of Millers Creek, Rickey (Betty) Reeves of Millers Creek, grandchildren; Tabitha and Nathan Carroll, Emily (Trey) Blake, Kevin and Erica Pennell, Brandi and Chad Church, Bradley and Hope Wiles, Heath Hall, Emma Hall, great grandchildren; Allie, Timber and Remmi Carroll, Graycen Skidmore, Myles Blake, McKenna and Lane Pennell, Hunter and Bailey Church, Carson and Easton Wiles and several nieces and nephews. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mtn. Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
