Stephen "Steve" Hamby Obituary
Mr. Stephen “Steve” Edward Hamby, age 69 went peacefully to be with the Lord Friday, January 14, 2022 after a long battle with cancer.
Services will be held 4:00 PM Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Rein-Sturdivant Chapel with Chaplain Nate Cline officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:00 PM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Steve was born December 5, 1952 in Wilkes County to Jake R. and Annie Ruth Minton Hamby.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother; Jake Hamby, Jr.
He is survived by a daughter; Tracy Hamby Brannock and husband Christopher of Clover, SC, and Kay Hincher Hamby of Moravian Falls, his wife of 31 years and life-long best friend, a grandson; Matthew Brian Curry, a great grandson; Lucas Brian Curry of Millers Creek, a granddaughter; Jade Nichole Brown of Lansing, two sisters; Linda Cook and Inez Hincher both of Wilkesboro, three nieces and five nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
