Mrs. Shirley Foster Hutchens Dumoulin, age 90, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2026, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church (Highway 16 N) with Pastor Brady Hayworth and Preacher Tony Malay officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 PM prior to the funeral service at the church.

Mrs. Dumoulin was born on December 2, 1935, in Wilkes County to Walter McKinley and Ada Florence Parsons Foster. Shirley loved her family and friends but most of all she loved Jesus. She was always telling people about Jesus and inviting them to church in the hope they could know Jesus as she did. If you needed help, she was always there to lend a hand. Shirley also enjoyed reading and bowling.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, James Thomas (JT) Hutchens; second husband, Jacques (Jack) Dumoulin, and stepson Jeffrey Lane (Carol).

Those left to cherish her memory are, her daughter, Teresa Hutchens Woodie (Butch) and son James Hutchens, Jr. (Becky) of Wilkesboro; stepdaughter, Deb Fleming (Tommy) of Greenville, NC; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Her extended family Vickie and Jimmy Finney, and Preacher Tony and Patsy Malay.

On behalf of Shirley’s family, we would like to thank everyone for the many prayers, visits and phone calls. A special thanks to Pruitt Hospice especially, Summer and Barbara who loved her and tried to make her life more comfortable.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 260 N. NC Highway 16, Wilkesboro, NC 28697.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Church, Chris Greene, Darrell Griffin, Kenny Owens, Feryal Little and Duel Mikeal.
