Mrs. Sharon Ann Nichols Severt, age 78, of Millers Creek, widow of Kenneth Leonard Severt, passed away Friday, June 20, at Atrium Health – Cabarrus in Concord.  Sharon was born August 7, 1946, in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, the middle child, to Bill and Helen Hayes Nichols.  She was a beloved mother to Nick Severt.   She is survived by sisters, Jane (Dean) Hincher of Hays and Joyce M. Barnwell of Kure Beach, NC and son Nick (Janice) Severt of High Point and only granddaughter, Kendall.  

Sharon was a school teacher at CC Wright Elementary for 32 years and spent many summers teaching with SPEC (Summer Programs for Exceptional Children).  She was a faithful lifelong member of Arbor Grove Methodist Church, participating in multiple committees and singing in the choir.  Sharon continued serving the community after her retirement from teaching by volunteering with the ABC-123 program through Arbor Grove and enjoyed serving as a board member on Wilkes Circles of Care.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Arbor Grove Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Susan Pillsbury-Taylor officiating.  The casket will be placed in the church at 1:30 PM.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
