Scott C. Fletemier, age 61, passed away on March 17, 2026 from a sudden onset of cancer. He was born December 24, 1964 in Port Huron Michigan, the first of 4 children.
He is survived by two sons, Christopher (Jessica) of High Point NC and Michael (Ellyn) of Statesville NC, and one grandson. His mother Sharon Hall of Huntersville, NC, father Jim Fletemier of Harbor Beach, MI. Two brothers, Todd (Gwen) of Kalkaska, Michigan, and Jim (Alexis) of Huntersville, NC, a sister Heather (Craig) Miserlian of Harrison Twp. Michigan, and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his partner Tena Dude of Virginia.
He was preceded in death by Grandparents Don and Jean Fletemier, Romeo, MI and Mary Boomer Mt. Clemens, MI. He graduated Romeo, MI High School in 1963 leaving behind a running track record which took years to break. He loved running from the time he could walk.
Scott worked over 30 years at Ingersoll Rand, Mocksville NC, and prided himself on his jobs and his friends there who called him “Shag.”
He loved the outdoors, hunting, landscaping and always would be outside if possible. His new love was kayaking in the New River and spending time with his partner and his dog, Sprocket. A NASCAR and football fan, he enjoyed rooting for his favorites or going to the races. He also loved remodeling his home and fixing things, he never hesitated to help others. A loving and giving person, he will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, he requested donations be made to Cancer.org in his name, or your local animal shelter or rescue.
