Samuel "Sam" Lowe Obituary

Mr. Sam Lowe, age 81 of Moravian Falls passed away Sunday, May 24, 2020 at Wake Forest Baptist-Wilkes Medical Center. 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, May 28, 2020 at the Lutheran Church of the Atonement with Pastor Roger Hull and Rev. Amos Combs officiating.  Burial with Military Honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1142 will be in Mountlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 prior to the service at the church. 

Mr. Lowe was born June 1, 1938 in Wilkes County to Alfred Spurgeon and Lestie Gay Wallace Lowe.  He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Atonement in Wilkesboro.   Sam was a Meat Department Manager at Lowes Foods for close to 40 years. 

Sam was a devoted husband for 55 years, best Daddy and Pawpaw in the world.  He enjoyed bird watching and playing the guitar.  He was active at his church where he served on the church council, property committee and as an usher.  Sam had a heart of gold and was always eager to help others. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters; Bertha Helton, Nellie Bates, Ethel Cox, Mary Watson , Dorothy Lail and Shirley Cannon, four brothers; Richard Lowe, Leonard Lowe, Henry Mack Lowe and Spurgeon Lowe, Jr. 

He is survived by his wife; Myrtle Jean Moretz Lowe of the home, two daughters; Chastity Van Combs and husband Joey of Millers Creek and Pamela Lee of Moravian Falls, two grandchildren; Mia and Kyle Combs and one brother; Bill Lowe of Taylorsville.   

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Lutheran Church of the Atonement, 243 Oakwoods Road, Wilkesboro, NC 28697.
