Ruth Bryant Wood

Mrs. Ruth Irene Bryant Wood, age 92 of North Wilkesboro passed away Monday, March 13, 2023 at SECU Hospice Home in Yadkinville. 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, March 17, 2023 at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Joel Blevins officiating.  Entombment will be in Scenic Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 PM at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. 

Ruth was born May 1, 1930 in Wilkes County to Rev. James “Jimmy” Samuel Bryant and Geneve Byrd Bryant.  She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.  Ruth loved quilting and gardening, but the love of her life was her grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Kyle Wood, five brothers; Walter, John, Robert, Vaughn and Everette Bryant, six sisters; Mae Alexander, Marie Blackburn, Tessie Stone, Ethel Adams, Beatrice Higgins and Bertha Ward. 

She is survived by a daughter; Sandy Wood Alexander of North Wilkesboro, a grandson; David Alexander and wife Chasity of North Wilkesboro, two great grandchildren; Ava Alexander and David Hensiek, a brother; David Bryant and wife Sharon of North Wilkesboro and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to SECU Hospice Home, 243 N. Lee Avenue, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
