Roy E. Clay II, 70, of Purlear, North Carolina, while surrounded by his Children & Grandchildren, passed away the evening of August 14th, 2023. Roy was born August 21st, 1952 in Logan, West Virginia.
Following Private First-Class Clay’s Honorable Service in the United States Army, Roy returned home to the United States of America in 1973, where he met and married Laura Brady, in Titusville, Florida.
Throughout life’s transitions, Roy fathered six children who are as follows: Lori, Mary (Michelle), Elizabeth (Mitchell), Roy III (Margarita), Ryan (Kandace), & Nicole (Jackson).
Additionally, Roy also was blessed with love that only Grandchildren carry, who are: Jakson, Ayden, Carley, Hunter, Jacelyn, Cadence, Grayson, and Finn, who is due to arrive in the coming weeks. He is also survived by his two sisters, Patricia and Kimberly, and his brother, Robert.
Roy is preceded in death by his Father, Roy, Mother, Betty and Brother, Randall as well as by Mr. William J. Fletcher Sr., and his Wife, Inez.
A Celebration of Roy’s life will be held on Saturday, September 23rd, 2023, at Reins Sturdivant Funeral Home at 11am. The family asks that any donations or gifts be made to Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital in honor of Roy’s love for his Grandchildren.
All United States Military Service Veterans are encouraged to wear a Yellow Ribbon if chosen to do so, in honor of Roy’s Military Service.
