Ms. Rose Mae Dillard Childress, age 65, of Wilkesboro passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026, at her home.

Rose was born on July 7, 1960, in Wilkes County to Vestal and Dora Bowers Dillard.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Verna Fay Johnson and three brothers, Ray Dillard, A.C. Holbrook and Clifford Holbrook.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Ray Childress of the home; daughter, April Dawn Childress and significant other Christina Redmon of North Wilkesboro; son, Donald Childress of Wilkesboro; grandchildren, Krista Dawn, Brianna Dawn, Gavyn Trey, Timothy Ray Childress, Tyler Jay Childress; sister, Ann Palmer and brothers, Lester Dillard, Robert Holbrook and Cecil Holbrook.
