Mr. Roosevelt “Rosie” Carlton, Jr., age 64, of Moravian Falls passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2025, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist-Wilkes Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Kevin Souther, Rev. Roosevelt Carlton Sr., Rev. Adrian Carlton, and Rev. Stephanie Parker officiating. Burial will be in Scenic Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 2:30 PM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Rosie was born January 29, 1961, in Wilkes County to Roosevelt Carlton Sr. and Margie Barbara Ann Barnes Carlton. Rosie was one of a kind, full of love, laughter, and kindness, and he had a way of making everyone around him feel cared for and seen. He was an avid Tarheels fan, cooked the best chicken you could ever taste, and could light up any softball field with his power swing. He loved spending time with his family, and he loved his kids and grandkids with his whole heart.
He was preceded in death by his mother; Margie Barbara Ann Barnes Carlton, and his brother; Jeffery Carlton.
He is survived by his daughter; Kristen Johnson (John) of North Wilkesboro, two sons; Zack Carlton of North Wilkesboro, Aiden Lackey of North Wilkesboro, lifelong friends; Kris Lackey (Heather) of North Wilkesboro, his father; Roosevelt Carlton, Sr. of North Wilkesboro, two grandchildren; Alistair Johnson, Apollo Johnson, three sisters; Teresa Redmond (James) of Winston-Salem, Stephanie Carlton of Moravian Falls, Andora Parsons (Frankie) of Moravian Falls, three brothers; Dean Carlton of North Wilkesboro, Kevin Carlton (Paula) of Gastonia, Stephen Carlton of Moravian Falls, seven nieces and nephews; Fallon Logossou “Dodo”, Lynnette Carlton “Sprig”, Jazzlynn Redmond “Beetle”, Kendra Carlton “Scuzz”, India Pegues “Missy”, Adrian Carlton “Red”, and Tekara Eller.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Brenner Children’s Hospital, 1 Medical Center Blvd., Winston-Salem, NC 27157.
