Mr. Rodney Lamar Jones, age 55, of Roaring River passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Sunday, June 19, 2022 at Poplar Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Brown, Rev. Casey Walker and Rev. Chad Mann officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:45 PM prior to the service at the church.
Rodney was born January 17, 1967 in Chattanooga, TN to Reynolds and Rosemary Turner Jones. He graduated from Chattanooga Valley High School in Flintstone, GA, where he played basketball and football. He attended and played football at the University of North Alabama. He worked part-time at Sheetz in Elkin, NC and was an assistant football and track coach at Wilkes Central High School.
He is survived by his wife; Delaina Adams Jones of the home, three daughters; Rokilia Simpson of Chattanooga, TN, Ashley Jones of Inman, SC, and Jazmyne Jones of Cleveland, OH, one son; Kamen Smith of Roaring River, his parents; Reynolds Jones and wife Rosemary of Chickamauga, GA, four grandchildren; Amiya Smith, Tayla Simpson, Warren Wells and Jhi’sn Wade, two sisters; Pamela Marsh and husband Frank of Chickamauga, GA and Latoya Porter and husband Kevin of Lafayette, GA, five nephews; Santajuan Jones and wife April, Devarus Porter and wife Kendall, Jarrod Beamon, Tyson Adams, and Brayden Adams, one niece; Dakiya Porter, brother-in-law; Jerome Adams and wife Jan, and several aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends.
