Mr. Rodney Eugene Calloway, age 74, of Ronda passed away Friday, May 1, 2026, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Clingman with Pastor James Safrit, Rev. Gene Martin and Rev. Steven Calloway officiating. The body will lie in state from 1:30 until 2:00 PM prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday evening at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.

Rodney was born on October 8, 1951, in Wilkes County to Terry “Ted” and Vernell Davis Calloway. He was a member at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Clingman.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly Elmore Calloway and a sister, Brenda Rooks.

He is survived by his wife, Geneva Powers Johnson Calloway of the home; daughter, Melissa Calloway Graham of Glade Valley; sons, Robert Calloway (Shelley) of Roaring River, Barry Calloway (Tina) of Grassy Creek; grandchildren, Tyler Calloway, Morgan Calloway Royal (Alan), Brett Graham; great-grandchildren, Adrian Royal and Gwendolyn Royal; sisters, Lynn Boggs (Johnny) of Mocksville, Tammy Bruening (Fritz) of Grand Blanc, Michigan and a brother, Kenneth Calloway (Lorraine) of Ronda.
