Robert “Bob” Eugene Linville, 85, went home unexpectedly to be with his Lord and Savior,Jesus Christ, on Monday afternoon, May 18, 2026.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with Pastor Tracy Nichols. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 PM prior to the service at the church.
Bob was born on November 23, 1940, in Forsyth County, North Carolina, to the late Wilson and Cora Linville. He spent many years working for Gant & Quality Oil Company before retiring. He also enjoyed running his own business, “The Old Store,” where he loved serving and visiting with members of the community.
Bob found great joy in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was passionate about farming tobacco, gardening, and raising animals, with a special love for livestock. Alongside his wife, Deb, he spent many years traveling and making memories around the world.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by 5 sisters, Audrey Larimore, Dorothy Wilson, Jewel Bowman, Patricia Brim, and Bertha Linville; 4 brothers, Dewey Linville, Glenn Linville, Billy Ray Linville, and Jerry Linville; and his beloved grandson, Aiden Fauber.
He is survived by his loving wife, Debra Gambill; his four daughters, Terrie Cummings (John), Sharron Fauber (Tommy), Robin Ziglar (Johnny), and Shellie Booe (Brian); eleven cherished grandchildren, Billy, Jessica, Little Tommy, Paul, Sara, Adam, Ashley, Alivia, Alex, Elijah, and Noah; twenty great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
He is also survived by his sister, Janet Gauldin (Jimmy); his brother, Mac Linville; four special nieces, Kirsten, Kaitlyn, Sarah, and Emily, along with their children; and a special friend, Evan Wiles, whom he loved as a son.
Bob will be remembered for his strong faith, hard work, deep love for his family, and kind heart toward everyone he met. He never missed a chance to tell a joke and bring laughter to those around him.
