Mr. Robert “Bob” Clayton Delp, age 87 passed away Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Atrium Health-Wilkes Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, May 1, 2026, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Randy Lankford officiating. Burial will be in Mountlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 PM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Mr. Delp was born September 18, 1938, in Wilkes County to Paul Franklin Delp and Vera Waters Delp. He graduated from West Wilkes High School in 1956, was a Co-Captain Basketball player and a member of Future Farmers of America. He was a barber at Millers Creek Barbershop for 53 years. He enjoyed farming and hunting. He was a member of Millers Creek United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; Aurelia Brown Delp, two brothers; Raymond Frankin Delp and Roy Avalon Delp.
He is survived by a daughter, Tina Delp of Millers Creek; a son, Tony Delp and wife Jennifer of Fuquay-Varina; two grandchildren, Christine Delp and husband Luke DeLeon of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Richard “Clayton” Delp of Minneapolis, Minnesota; a sister; Ruth Baker and husband Larry of Millers Creek.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, PO Box 325, Dobson, NC 27107.
