Robert Taylor Horton

Mr. Robert Taylor Horton, age 81 of Lenoir passed away Sunday, June 19,2022 at Hickory Falls Health and Rehabilitation.

Graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, June 24, 2022 at Beaver Creek Church Cemetery with Rev. Darlene Stokes and Rev. Michael Hester officiating. 

Robert was born June 24,1940 in Wilkes County to Eugene and Mattie Whiterspoon Horton. Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting, baseball, pool, cards, gardening, his two dogs; Sweet Girl and Red Tongue, Gospel and R&B music.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter; Debbie Horton, four sisters; Shirley Horton Perkins, Treble M. Denny, Gennis Davenport, Margaret Reid, and a brother; Herbert Horton.

He is survived by his children; Robert Horton Jr., Darrell Horton, Ashley Horton, Wendy Horton, Reggie Jones, Sherry Dula, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two sisters; Arita Newkirk, Willie Johnson, two brothers; Charles Horton, and Eugene Horton, and a host of nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Beaver Creek Church, 387 Gene Horton Road, Ferguson, NC 28624.
