In loving memory of Robert George Fink Sr., who passed away March 24, 2026, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist-Wilkes Medical Center. Bob was a loving husband father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.
Bob was born May 22, 1934 to Robert Stevenson Fink and Helen Scholtens in Manhattan, and grew up in Middle Village, Queens, New York. Bob moved with his family to Miami Florida at the age of 17 and proceeded to serve as a fire fighter for the City of Miami for 31 years. In 1984, after retirement, he moved his family to Wilkes County North Carolina and became a bus driver for West Wilkes High School for 21 years.
In his free time he was an avid train enthusiast. He was a member of the Florida Live Steamers, and later, was an active member and advocate for the Black Cat Station Model Railroad Museum in North Wilkesboro, NC. He was a lover and collector of a wide variety of music genres.
He was preceded in death by his father Robert Stevenson Fink, mother Helen Scholtens Fink, his wife Helen Steffens Fink, and his eldest son Robert George Fink Jr.
He is survived by his sister Joan Fink Tuck, daughters Debra Ellen Fink Hine, Laura Louise Fink Mann, and Adrienne Rene Fink Carey, son-in-law Brian Holden Carey, and son Richard Martin Fink, and daughter-in-law Lori Andrews Fink. Bob was also a grandfather to Aaron Feight, Russel Mann, Isabella Rene Carey, Holden Steffens Carey, Bradley Martin Fink, and great grandfather to Lily Raine Feight.
