Mrs. Rita Gustafson Almond, age 75, of North Wilkesboro passed away Monday, April 13, 2026, at Atrium Health-Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, April 20, 2026, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Randall Millsaps officiating... The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Rita was born, July 23, 1950, in Highland Park, MI to Gordon Elmer and Elsie Marie Drossart Gustafson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter; Amy Joy Maiden, a grandson; Justin Hawkins, a sister; Elaine Gustafson and three brothers; Walter Gustafson, Ray Gustafson and Carl Gustafson.
She is survived by her husband; Timothy Michael Almond of the home, a daughter; Paula Krysinski of Warren, MI, a son; Earl Wade Johnson, Jr. of the home, a granddaughter; Crystal Hawkins, two great grandchildren; A. J. Uribio, Braylen Uribio and a brother; Arnold Gustafson of Warren, MI. and several nieces and nephews.
