Richard "Bryce" Greene

Mr. Richard “Bryce” Greene, age 86 of North Wilkesboro passed away March 11, 2023, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist-Wilkes Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Baptist Home Baptist Church with Rev. David Jones officiating.  The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM prior to the service at the church. Family entombment service will be held following at Mountlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum with Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1142 Honor Guard and NC National Guard.  

Bryce was born May 1, 1936, in Watauga County to Oren Wakefield and Mattie Devena Shepherd Greene McNeil.  Bryce was a member and had served as a deacon at Baptist Home Baptist Church and Pleasant Home Baptist Church in Millers Creek.  Bryce served as a Sergeant in the United States Army.  He retired from Greene Brothers Furniture with 45 years of service as a master upholsterer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his only brother; Bradley Steven McNeil, Sr.

He is survived by his wife June McNeil Greene of the home; sisters Evelyn Greene Jones of Charlotte, Jill McNeil Rogers (Eric) of North Wilkesboro; nieces; Suzanne Jones (Tim), Carrie Byrd (John); nephew; Steven McNeil (Bonnie) and several other nieces and nephews.

The family request no food.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital 501 St. Judes Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
