Mr. Richard Burton Adams, age 74 of Wilkesboro, passed away Friday, November 29, 2024, at his home.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Brian Miller and Rev. Jason Adams officiating.  Burial will follow in Mountlawn Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.

Mr. Adams was born April 28, 1950, to Gilbert Andrew and Pauline Lyllian Shephard Adams. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Sturgill Adams; and one brother, Mike Adams.  

Mr. Adams is survived by four sons, Richard Derrick Adams (Hannah) of Hamptonville, Rodney Eric Adams (Lisa) of Wilkesboro, Robert Jason Adams (Jennifer)of Ferguson, and Brian Justin Adams (Angela) of Wilkesboro; and ten grandchildren, Jamie Adams (Linda Adams), Avery Adams, Hayden Adams, Hannah Owings (Andrew Owings), Breanna (Isaac) Pipes, Kendra Adams, Jacob Adams, Casey Adams, Austin Adams, Lauren (Dalton) Blankenship; five great-grandchildren, Serena Pipes, Graylyn Owings, Easton Owings, Travis Blankenship, and Colt Blankenship; brothers and sisters, Carol Mitchell of North Wilkesboro, Jane Myers of Florida, Steve Adams of Myrtle Beach, SC, Sandy Blackburn and Terry Adams both of Hays; and close friend and cousin, Nancy Stanley.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis TN 38105.
