Rex Torrence

Mr. Rex Torrence, age 82, of Wilkesboro, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2024, at his home. 

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Alvin Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery.   

Rex was born November 18, 1942, in Wilkes County. He was a member and Deacon of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church for many years and a member of Brushy Mountain Ruritan Club. He loved his business of Torrence Farm and Nursery, being in the farmer’s market. Rex was a loving and wonderful husband, father, and PawPaw.

He was preceded in death by his mother; Lucille Torrence, grandmother; Ella Torrence, a brother; Wayne Riddle, and a uncle; Curtis Torrence. 

He is survived by his wife; Mozelle Jarvis Torrence of the home, daughter; Angie Haney of Wilkesboro, son; Terry Torrence (Amber) of North Wilkesboro, six grandchildren; Alexus Haney Bullock, Dakota Torrence, Destiny Torrence, Taylyn Torrence, Cassady Absher, Tyler Absher, six great-grandchildren; Mason Haney, Jolie Bullock, Amari Bullock, Thomas Shumate, Jackson Shumate, Liam Absher,  two sisters; Brenda Hayes (Tony), Robin Moore (David), and a brother; Gary Riddle (Jane), and a cousin; Dennis Torrence.
