Rex Reeves

Mr. Rex Reeves, age 88, husband of Shelby Hayes Reeves passed away Sunday, June 19, 2022 at Atrium Health-Wake Forest Baptist-Wilkes Medical Center. 

Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM Friday, June 24, 2022 at Arbor Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Trent Craven officiating.   

Rex was born October 5, 1933 in Wilkes County to John Ambrose and Cynthia Royal Reeves.  He was a member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church.  Rex served in the United States Army.  Rex worked at Yadkin Valley Ford Company for 51 years, he was on the Board of Directors at Wilkes Regional Medical Center, Yadkin Valley Bank and a member of the Lions Club. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight brothers; Vaughn, Jack, Bernard, Bill, Claude, Hoyle, Junior and LeeRoy Reeves. 

Rex is survived by his wife; Shelby Hayes Reeves of the home, a brother; Clate Reeves and wife Sue of Hays, a sister-in-law; Olene Reeves of Millers Creek and many nieces and nephews. 

The family request no food or flowers, but memorials may be made to Arbor Grove United Methodist Church, c/o Lindsay Eller, 590 Shepherd-River Road, Millers Creek, NC 28651 or Pleasant Home Baptist Church, 735 Pleasant Home Church Road, Millers Creek, NC 28651. 

Pallbearers will be:  Mike Reeves, James Reeves, Jeffrey Reeves, Ricky Reeves,  Nathan Holaday, Drew Oliver, MD, Tom Oliver, MD and David Oliver.
