Mrs. Reta Curtis Taylor, age 89, of Lexington, formerly of Wilkes County, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Davidson Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, April 25, 2025, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Jamie McGuire officiating. Burial will be in New Covenant Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Reta was born January 11, 1936, in Wilkes County to August Felts and Venie Rose Church Curtis. She loved working in her yard, quilting, and many home craft activities. Reta loved her family gathering together, traveling, antique and thrift stores, and rearranging furniture, which she was known to do on a weekly basis. She also loved music and dancing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband; Herbert H. Caudill, second husband; Darrell Taylor, three sisters; Kathleen Curtis Killian, Louise Marie Curtis Chambers, Margaret Curtis Gales, two brothers; Richard Summerfield Curtis and Gilbert Curtis.
She is survived by her son; Herbert Caudill (Sandra) of Linwood, NC daughter; Kathy Caudill Wallace (Charles) of Kathleen, Ga, four grandchildren; Marcia Lentz, Robert Seeders, Angela Marlow, Jennifer Eddy, five great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren. three sisters; Marlene Laws of Purlear, Barbara McNeil of Millers Creek, Nancy Moore of Moravian Falls, and two brothers; Buddy Curtis (Connie) of Millers Creek, and Wayne Curtis (Wanda) of Purlear.
