Mrs. Paula “Renae” Cardwell Ritenour, age 51 of North Wilkesboro, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 10, 2025, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Ken Pardue officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. Burial will be at Scenic Memorial Gardens.
She was born on January 2, 1974, in Wilkes County to Robert James and Gladys Ruth Broyhill Cardwell. She was a member of Peace Haven Baptist Church.
Renae was destined to be a mother and is defined by her maternal and nurturing instincts. She always put her kids, husband, and others before herself. Renae made every moment special, especially the holidays. Her favorite was Christmas and those who know her, know Hallmark Christmas movies were on repeat and a Christmas tree was always up. She was God-fearing and wouldn’t be scared to tell you about Jesus.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Renae is survived by her husband, David Ritenour of the home; daughter, Jacalin Davis Ritenour of the home; son, Zachary Isaac Ritenour of the home; sister, Lori Burgess and husband James of Millers Creek; mother and father-in-law, Linda and Eddie Ritenour; sister-in-law, Beth Ritenour Koontz and husband Keith; two nieces, Lillian and Ella; two nephews, Caleb and Connor; and numerous aunts and uncles.
