Reginald Gwyn Blackburn

Mr. Reginald (Reggie) Gwyn Blackburn, age 63 of North Wilkesboro, husband of Shelby Pilkington Blackburn, died on Friday, December 31, 2021 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Wilkes Medical Center.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

The family will receive friends Monday, January 3, 2022 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.

Reggie was born on October 29, 1958 in Wilkes County to John W. Blackburn and wife Reba Clara Blackburn. He was member of Fairview Baptist Church and worked for Wilkes County Sheriff’s Department for 13 years as well as a volunteer firefighter for Knotville & Shepherds Crossroads Fire Department for 30+ years.

He is survived by his wife Shelby of 34 years, his daughter; Samantha Nicole Kelly and spouse Katrina Kelly of North Wilkesboro, a son; Mathew Ray Souther of North Wilkesboro and one granddaughter; Zayleigh Nicole Kelly and brother; Jeffrey Blackburn of North Wilkesboro.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Humane Society of Wilkes, PO Box 306, North Wilkesboro NC 28659.

The family requires anyone attending visitation must wear a face covering.
