Reba Wilcox Obituary

Mrs. Reba Greer Wilcox, age 85 of Wilkesboro, went home to be with her Lord, Thursday June 23, 2022 at her home.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday July 2, 2022 at Sharon Walker Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Wiles, Rev. Larry Adams, and Rev. Tim Pruitt officiating. The body will lie in state from 1:30 until 2:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will be in Scenic Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday July 1, 2022 at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.

She was born on August 16, 1936 in Watauga County to James Monroe and Flora Ethel Tucker Greer. Her life was spent taking care of her entire family. She worked in the dietary department at Vespers, she was a custodian at Golden Needles and the Federal Building. She loved working in her flower beds, baking for all her friends and children, she was a wonderful cook. She loved reading her Bible and praying for others. She loved to give to others, had the heart of a servant, and loved her Lord. She gave out a Motorist Prayer to anyone that would accept them. She was a witness for her Lord. She was a member of Sharon Walker Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her first husband of 53 years, Wallace Kenneth Wilcox; one daughter; Kathy Wilcox Combs; two sisters; Ila Gentle and twin V. C Greer; three brothers; Hershel, James, and twin  J. C. Greer; one half sister; V.C. Greer.

She is survived by her second husband Kenneth Louis Greene of the home; two daughters: Sandy Miller and husband Fred of Millers Creek, Treeka Wilcox Myers and husband Tim both of North Wilkesboro; one son in law; Dwight Butch Combs of North Wilkesboro; five grandchildren; Jenny Sons, Amanda Bullis, Samantha Miller, AnnaLisa Parker, Destinee Bailey; four great-grandchildren; Michael Sons, Luke Sons, Amelya Bullis and Torrie Bailey; two sisters; Floy Gentle and Husband Wayne of Kannapolis, Freda Sanders of Lenoir; two sister in laws; Elsie Hodgson of Meat Camp, Maxine Wilcox of Villas;  three brother in laws; Ottis Greene and wife Patty, Rex Greene and wife Christine both of Stony Fork, Clayton Greene of Ashe County; two sister in laws; Reba Watson and husband Sid of Stony Fork, Marie Trivette of Ashe County; two step daughters; Donna Greene of High Point and Lisa Greene of Deep Gap; one step son; Dwight Greene of Greensboro, and special niece; Patricia Severt, and a special friend Teresa Miles.

Pallbearers will be Michael Sons, Drew Wallace, Sammy Mitchell, Brandon Bullis, Phil Caudill, Harper Harltey, Aaron Soots and Andy Soots and Honorary Pallbearers, Robert Coles and Nestor Garcia.
