Mr. Ransom Hendrix, age 95 of Hays passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Maple Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Glenn Dancy III officiating. The body will lie-in-state from 1:30 until 2:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Saturday evening at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Mr. Hendrix was born November 16, 1925 in Watauga County to Rev. James Theodore and Flossy Pearl Greene Hendrix. He was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers; Howard V. Hendrix and Edward Hoover Hendrix.
He is survived by his wife; Joline Brown Hendrix of the home, two daughters; Patricia Ann Wood of North Wilkesboro, Pamela Gail Honey of Chesapeake, VA, two sons; Ransom David Hendrix and wife Christine of North Wilkesboro, James Daniel Hendrix and wife Brenda of Shepherds Crossroads, eight grandchildren; Marsha Ann Hincher, Bryon Wood and wife Deena, Jamie Childress and husband Cory, Emma Jayne Honey, Bradley Richard Honey, Wendy Billings and husband Gary, April Anderson and Jimmy Anderson, fourteen great grandchildren; Joshua Hincher, Elliott Hincher, Taylor Wood, Ethan Wood, Candice Stanley, Savannah Martinez, Jacie Childress, Brody Childress, Brittney Rigo, Emory Honey, Fisher Myers, Jr. Jolie Wyatt, Kali Wyatt, Sydney Wyatt, three great great grandchildren; Eli Hincher, Oaklyn Hincher, Connor Sidden and two brothers; Hansel Harley Hendrix of North Wilkesboro and Mack Olen Hendrix and wife Pauline of Hays and several nieces and nephews.
