In Loving Memory of Rancene Carolyn Cooke
Rancene Carolyn Cooke, a wonderfully silly soul and die-hard hippy, took her final earthly trip on Monday, June 1, 2026, at the age of 76. She passed away at Wilkes Health and Rehabilitation Center, leaving behind a desperately quiet space where her vibrant stories used to be.
Born on May 9, 1950, in Evansville, IN, to Duncan Cooke, Sr. and Marge Stoll Cooke, Rancene lived a life that firmly rejected anything boring or dry.
While the world feels a little less bright without her in it, there is comfort in knowing she is finally reunited with her parents, her sister, Linda Tatum, and her brother, Duncan Cooke, Jr. If you see her, ask about Oscar.
She leaves behind her two sons, Whitney Green (Carrie) of Mableton, GA, and Keith Rance Green of Lithia Springs, GA.
Because a traditional, stuffy funeral simply wouldn't suit her, a Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
