Mr. RS Earp, age 77 of Wilkesboro passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his wife, son and daughter.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of North Wilkesboro with Dr. Bert Young and Rev. Amanda Atkin officiating. Burial will be in Little Rock Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday evening at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
RS was born December 12, 1944 in Wilkes County to Roby Smith Earp, Sr. and Anna Cruikshank Earp. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Wilkesboro. After retiring from Lowe’s, he spent his time developing the neighborhood “The Farm”. This gave him the opportunity to spend time working and teaching his grandsons and seeing the joy in helping people build their dream home.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister; Myra and six brothers; Bill, Frank (Buster), Kermit, Jack, Allen and Joe Earp.
He is survived by his wife: Janice (Jan) Ferguson Earp of the home, a son; Roby S. Earp, III and wife Jacqueline Jones of Springdale AR, a daughter; Jelynn Earp Richie and husband Patrick of Jefferson, , six grandchildren; Bradley Richie and wife Alayne, Peyton Earp, Cole Richie, Reagan Earp, Leah Earp, Megan Richie and a great grandson; Judson Richie, a sister; Betty Anderson and husband Jim of Flint, MI and a brother; Thomas Earp and wife Jean of Florida.
