Ms. Peggy Matilda Baker, age 88 of Hickory passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Frye Medical Center in Hickory.
Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, March 24, 2024, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Hwy 16 with Rev. Brady Hayworth officiating.
Peggy was born May 8, 1935, in Wilkes County to Virgil McKinley and Lee Ann Curtis Baker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters; Annie Wood, Shirley Mae Baker, three brothers; James Baker, George Baker, William Baker, one niece; Paula Winkler, two nephews; Jimmy Wood and Edward Wood.
She is survived by one niece; Joyce Baker Wood (Robert) of North Wilkesboro, three nephews; George McKinley Baker (Debbie) of Warsaw, Henry Baker (Charlotte) of Eden, ND, Bobby Baker of Hickory.
