Paul "JR" Eugene Rhodes, Jr.

Mr. Paul Eugene Rhodes Jr., better known as “JR” Rhodes, age 73 of North Wilkesboro passed away Friday, May 9, 2025, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem. 

He was born May 7, 1952, in Wilkes County to Paul Eugene Sr. and Alma Brown Rhodes.  J.R. loved his family, friends, fishing and his job as an electrician.  He retired after 20+ years of service from MECI. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Cothren and Vickie McGrady; and three brothers, Roger D. Rhodes, William C. Rhodes and James C. Rhodes. 

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Pierce of North Wilkesboro; two daughters, Erica L. Rhodes-Hargrove of North Wilkesboro and Tina Rhodes-Mills of Arnold, MD; son, Paul E. Rhodes III of Annapolis, MD; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sister, Sandra G. Byrd of Hays; two brothers, Kenneth R. Rhodes (Debra) of Hays and Tommy Rhodes of North Wilkesboro; several nieces, nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
