Mr. Paul Canter, age 80 of Wilkesboro passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023 at SECU Mountain Valley Hospice House in Yadkinville, NC.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel where Paul worked for more than 45 years.  The Rev. Steve Snipes will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday evening at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Scenic Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Paul was born December 23, 1942 in Wilkes County to Joseph Paige and Ruth Wingate Canter who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Celia Lee Canter.

Paul was a Funeral Director, a former Rotarian and a loaned executive for United Way. Paul's life was defined by his work, his service to others, his love for his family and especially his wife Celia, his sense of humor, his love of traveling especially road trips, his life with all the fur babies, his love of music and going to concerts and spending time with friends and especially playing bridge. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served a year of his service in Vietnam.
