Ora Kathleen (Spears) Crane

Ora Kathleen Spears Crane, age 67, passed away on February 23, 2026, at Atrium Health-Wilkes Medical Center after a prolonged battle with cancer.  Ms. Crane was born May 2, 1958, to Etoy Spears, who went home to be with the Lord in 1998.

Kathleen, known as “Kathy” by most of her friends and family, retired after working for 25+ years in the Accounting Department of Lowe’s Companies, Inc.  Kathy enjoyed gardening and yard work, but her favorite pastime was cooking and baking.  She loved nothing more than to share a freshly baked cake, pie, or batch of homemade candy with her friends.  She was very generous with her time and before the cancer took its toll, she could often be found driving elderly friends to doctor’s appointments or out to run errands.

Kathy had expressed her wishes that a funeral service not be held; rather that everyone just remember her and smile if she had ever brought a measure of joy to your life.

 A private burial will be held at a later date.

The family requests no food.
