Ollie Lavern (Sandlin) Gaultney

Mrs. Ollie Lavern Sandlin Gaultney, 87 of Boomer, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024, at her home.

Celebration of Life Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Boomer Advent Christian Church with Pastor David Jones officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following service. 

Mrs. Gaultney was born July 30, 1936, in Catron, Missouri to Fielden and Lela Jane Lawrence Sandlin. 

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gaultney was preceded in death by her husband, Truman Arlin Gaultney, and one daughter, Shannon Brooks.  Ollie was a member of Boomer Advent Christian Church for many years.  Ollie’s wish first and foremost was that her children, grandchildren, and everyone accept our Lord Jesus as Savior.  She had a flair with hair and was a board-certified cosmetologist in the 1960’s with her own beauty shop.  Ollie loved people and became a personal care giver for Dr. Phillip Keener exclusively for many years.  She retired from Wilkes Regional Home Health Services.   She had a green thumb with plants and enjoyed her flower gardening as well as her pets of which there were many over the years.

She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Jones (Fletcher) of Boomer; two sons, Scott Boatner (Gina) of Wappapello, MO, and Skip Boatner (Linda) of Poplar Bluff, MO; seven grandchildren, Shawna Swaim, Mark Brooks, Jr.(Rachel), Emily Brooks, Amanda Boatner, Alicia Leonard (David), Kinard Boatner, and Kyle Boatner; eight great-grandchildren, Jacob Swaim, Cameron Brooks, Christian Brooks, Cooper Brooks, Rosalie Leonard, Scottie Jane Boatner, Lillian Piper Boatner, and Emma Grace Boatner; five sisters, Melba Bryant (John) of Dexter, MO, Mary Dugger of Fisk, MO, Darlene Parks (Denny) of Dudley, MO, Fay Gee of Dexter, MO, and Rebecca Rhoades of Fisk, MO; and three brothers, Raymond Sandlin, Winford Whitaker, and Larry Sandlin.
