Norma Lee (Bartlett) Foster

Norma Bartlett Foster, age 87, of Wilkesboro departed this life peacefully on April 9th, 2025, surrounded by love and family.  

Born in Galax Virginia on June 2nd, 1937 to Otie and Bonnie Bartlett, Norma was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great- grandmother.  Norma had a generous heart and a nurturing spirit. She was known for the care and devotion she gave to her family. Norma’s greatest joy came from the time she spent caring for and loving on her grandbabies whom she cherished so deeply. Norma found peace and joy tending in her garden, where she spent countless hours nurturing flowers and plants with the same patience and love she gave to those around her.  

She is survived by her two children, a son Ronald Foster and wife Beth and a daughter Becky Staley and husband Danny all of Wilkesboro.  Five grandchildren; Aaron Foster and wife Tracy, Nathaniel Staley and wife Michelle, Nicole Murray and husband Max, Leandra Anderson and husband Jesse, Garrett Foster and wife Amber. Five great grandchildren; Carrie Davis and husband Hunter, Ava and Maggie Staley, and Nora and Eloise Murray. One great- great grandchild, Amelia Davis.  A sister Linda Patton of Ohio and two sisters in laws Nancy Dillard of North Wilkesboro and Eunice Bartlett of Virginia.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Foster, her sister Pauline Horton, and two brothers Andrew Bartlett and Frank Bartlett, and a brother-in-law, John Foster. 

A celebration of Norma’s life will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, April 14th at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Prayer Chapel with Rev. Hadley Triplett, Rev. Kevin Brown, and Rev. Leandra Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 239 Champion Mt. Pleasant Road, Wilkesboro, NC 28697.
