Nettie Greene Brooks

Mrs. Nettie Greene Brooks, age 85 of Millers Creek passed away Monday, September 14, 2020 at Ashe Assisted Living and Memory Care. 

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Pleasant Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Joey Moore and Rev. Dean Crane officiating.  

Mrs. Brooks was born November 13, 1934 in Wilkes County to Gurnie N. and Dollie Church Greene.  She was a member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church. She retired after 25 years of service at Ithaca Industries.  She loved work, home and family. 

She was preceded in death by parents, a daughter; Phyllis Brooks Whittington, two sisters; Rita Martin and Marie Pilkenton and two brothers; Garis Greene and John Greene. 

She is survived by two sons; Michael Brooks and wife Sparey and Mark Brooks and wife Ramona both of Millers Creek, six grandchildren; Shaun M. Brooks and wife Abbye, Crystal Brooks Williams, Hope Brooks Carter and husband Corey, Morgan Brooks-Sprinkle and husband Junior, Rachel Brooks Absher and husband Logan and Marshall E. Brooks and nine great grandchildren, two sisters; Novella Christenbury of Wilkesboro, Genevieve Pilkington of Millers Creek and one brother; Lonnie Greene of Morristown, TN and a sister-in-law; Barbara Jean Greene of Purlear and numerous nieces and nephews.
