Mrs. Nellie Ferguson Katz, age 94, passed away Monday, June 23, 2025, at Duke Health in Mooresville. 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, June 27, 2025, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Pastor Hal Greene officiating.  Burial will be in Little Rock Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. 

Nellie was born May 22, 1931, in Wilkes County to Carl and Gaye Fortner Ferguson.  She was a member of Little Rock Baptist Church. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister; Christine Foster, two brothers; Kenneth Ferguson and Jack Ferguson, two sisters-in-law; Sue Ferguson, Virginia Ferguson, three brothers-in-law; Garvin Foster, R.S. Earp and Carl Swanson. 

She is survived by a son; Gary Katz (Donna) of Mooresville, grandson; Justin Katz of Kernersville, two sisters; Janice Earp of North Wilkesboro, Sue Swanson of Moravian Falls, two brothers; Terry Ferguson (Nancy) of Moravian Falls, Larry Ferguson of Greensboro, a sister-in-law; Betty Ferguson and several nieces and nephews.   

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Little Rock Baptist Church, 248 Little Rock Church Road, Boomer, NC 28606.
