Mrs. Nellie Janette Saunders Call, age 81 of North Wilkesboro passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist-Wilkes Medical Center. 

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Edgewood Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Tharpe officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM prior to the service at the church. 

Nellie was born February 2, 1944, in Wilkes County to Earl and Eula Foster Saunders. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church, where she taught Pre-School Sunday School for over 58 years. Nellie loved her family, church, and children. She was a friend to all she met. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister; Louise Barney, three brothers; Earl “Bill” Saunders, Paul Saunders, and Roy Saunders. 

She is survived by her husband; William “Willie” Commie Call of the home, two sons; Jeff Call (Sandra) of Wilkesboro, Steve Call (Rebecca) of Wilkesboro, two grandchildren; Ashely Call Brock (Bayley) of North Wilkesboro, Matthew Call of Wilkesboro, three great-grandchildren; Grayson Brock, Thomas Brock, Chase Brock, three sisters; Jane Tillman of Denver, NC, Rose Bennett of North Wilkesboro, Ina Poindexter of Elgin, SC, and one brother; John Saunders of North Wilkesboro. 

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Edgewood Baptist Church, 2300 Edgewood Road, Wilkesboro, NC 28697.
